Oregon’s Invasive Species Information Hub

The Oregon Invasive Species Council has created a searchable tool to compile available information for aggressive non-native species that pose a threat to Oregon’s environment, economy, or public health. Species profiles include information about the species, species description, introduction pathways, and distributions. This information hub is a work in progress and is not yet a comprehensive resource. Additional species profiles and accompanying information resources will be published in a phased approach. Scroll down to see ‘alert’ species, published species by taxa groupings, and a link to the full published resource. Click the link below to discover how to best navigate this resource to fit your invasive species’ management needs.

The development of this tool is a collaborative effort!

Alert Species

‘Alert’ Species are highlighted species of pressing concern because of an event, issue or detection. Alerts are posted at the time of the reported issue or event as noted (date of alert) and set to automatically become inactive after 3 months to keep the list timely. At times, there may not be any active alerts. However, recent alerts that have been inactivated will also be displayed. Alerts may be inactivated before or after the 3-month window for multiple reasons including seasonal considerations, the threat status, etc. These species remain high priority for prevention, detection, and management.

Spreading Information not Invasives

Amplifying Climate Change and First Foods Considerations in an Invasive Species Knowledge Sharing Hub

In order to expand species profiles on the Hub, in 2022-2023, the OISC partnered with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Environmental Science Associates, the Northwest Regional Invasive Species and Climate Change Network, and Western Invasives Network to gather information. Learn more about this work by reviewing the Summer 2023 Webinar.

Species to Look Out for In Oregon

Early detection of invasive species is critical for preventing establishment, preventing spread, and limiting the potential economic, social, and environmental impacts. Early detection & rapid response (EDRR) is a key strategy in Oregon’s Statewide Strategic Plan for Invasive Species.

Click on one of the buttons below to find information about species of concern to Oregon that have either not yet been detected, have been eradicated in the past, or have been contained to a limited distribution within the state.

Please Note: published species profiles are limited. Additional profiles will be published in a phased approach. A list of all species profiles currently under development, scroll to the bottom of this page.
