Ecology & Management of Bio-Invasions: This course, offered to graduate and undergraduate students at Portland State University, provides an overview of the ecology and management of invasive species. Students examine the causes and consequences of species introductions, learn about different management options and apply their understanding of invasive species ecology and policy to create useful management products. These projects are created with and for community partners including past and present Council members and other invasive species professionals. These projects focus on invasive species and issues that threaten Oregon’s infrastructure, economy, natural resources, including those that can impact outdoor recreation opportunities and tourism. Students work with their community partners to create management products that are useful in addressing active invasive species issues.
